We tested a creative approach to repurpose construction waste to design & build two compost loos and a shower for an off-grid bee-keeping family in West Wales.
Drawing inspiration from Welsh dry-stacked slate walls and finding solutions for the lack of electrical power, we hand-nailed small timber off-cuts collected from nearby sawmills to create a robust structure. The most remarkable feature is the breathtaking view of Fishguard that one can enjoy while using the new facilities.
Other notable features include repurposing an old church organ pipe as a soil vent and incorporating a glass bottle wall to provide privacy and natural light on the rear side visible from the public footpath.
